Benjamin Roseberry Movie Eternal

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind

What a strange, strange movie.  “How does one come to terms with a hard breakup?”  has always been a question I have explored.  But how much harder is the situation when the person realizes that their ex-lover does not even recognize them.  It seemed like a ploy when I watched Clementine completely disregard Joel when he visited her at work.  I was upset because of how disrespectful it seemed.  My annoyance was only heightened when I found out that she chose to have the procedure.  When Joe then decided to have it happen to him as well, I was not surprised.  He was having a hard time dealing with her departure.  I can’t blame him for his decision.  However, how important do memories of Clementine become to him.  We frequently think that the departure of knowledge is the departure pain and sorrow.  I had a friend once say that he would prefer to never know a friend if they ended up hurting him in the end.  But do the good memories not outweigh the pain?
