To Kill a Mockingbird

I’m sure most, if not all of you, have read the book To Kill a Mockingbird. In this book I believe Atticus Finch is a Christ-like figure. He is always kind and teaching his kids the right thing, even when society says otherwise. He was also the only person who would stand up for a black man during that time. When everyone else wanted to throw him in jail or kill him, Atticus stood behind him. The snowman that Jem and Scout made was good symbolism for showing that people are all the same, no matter what color their skin is. They didn’t have quite enough snow to make the snowman, so the used some dirt. Atticus also tells his kids that it’s a sin to kill a mockingbird (hence the name of the book). The mockingbirds just sing songs and never harm anyone. They are representative of the underprivileged black people in the book. They are all so innocent and harmless, but everyone tries to make them out to be these terrible things. This book was great for teaching lessons and pretty much everything had another meaning behind it.
