Marion Lichty: Donnie Drako

Donnie Drako is a strange movie about a boy named Donnie Drako.  He has an unusual fascination with time travel and life force.   He also is dealing with psychological issues as well.  The main themes I found in Donnie Drako are life force and paths, seeing visions, and time travel.  The theme life force and paths is shown later in the film when he begins to see the clear-ish path come out of people’s body.  He noticed that the path was the future place of the person.  He wondered about having to follow that path.  The question if you know about the path must you follow it.  The other people were not even aware of the life force and paths.  Time travel is the other theme.  This is depicted at the very end when the plane is taken back in time.  Of course, the second time, the events play out differently since Donnie died in the plane crash that time.  Overall this is a great movie, even if it was a little strange at first.
