The 2003 film titled Northfork was a really interesting film. The film centered around a group of state officials whose job it was to get the people in a town to move before it was flooded. The men saw themselves as "angels" because they were guiding the people away from the flood waters and onto higher ground. A sub plot, and in my opinion a more interesting story, was of a little boy who was dying. I thought it was very interesting how the little boy entered a new dream world when he fell asleep. It reminded me alot of "The Jacket" especially in the fact that when the boy died he was stuck forever in this dream world.
I didn't get it at first but i found it very interesting that all of the angels portrayed in the boys dream world were representations of things that he had in his personal life... the plane, the flowers, the fake hand, the bible and the cane which portrayed that creepy dog thing. I thought it was a cool way of portraying the fact that the boy was just thinking about common things in his life and carrying them over into his "dream world." Overall I thought the movie was really cool. I really liked James Wood's character which is weird because I almost never like him in any other movies.
