Random Blog- Les Miserables- Patrick Leegan

I recently watched that new Les Mierables movies that came out around Christmas time.  I have to say that I am not a huge fan of musicals but I did like this movie very much.  It was a lot sadder of a story than I remembered as a child but it was cool to see Hollywood's portrayal of it.  I watched it with one of my friends who seemed to be an expert on it which really helped because Im not really sure why but when people are singing the important dialogue I have a hard time following the story line haha.  My favorite character would definitely have to be the monk or priest guy who saved Jean from being taken back to prison.  This is one aspect of the story that i remembered very well.  The priest had allowed Jean to stay with him to get out of the cold and Jean took advantage of this generosity by stealing the priests silver.  Upon getting caught and brought back to the priest, the priest explained to the law enforcement that he had given this silver to Jean and in fact Jean had forgotten two silver candle sticks.  In doing this the priest saved Jean.  Not only on a literal level but he turned Jean into an outstanding man who continued to help others throughout his life.  The priest opened Jeans eyes and heart.  Overall it was a pretty cool movie with some very interesting portrayals of different characters.
