Fame May “Lead to a Shorter Life”

In this article, the author argues that people such as actors, singers, musicians and sports stars tend to die at an earlier age. Studies show that these people died at an average age of 77.  It also showed that people in other careers tended to live longer. The reasons they gave could be the fact that since their age affects their career, they may live unhealthy lives after they are done, secondly that they are risk-takers and resort to substance abuse, and thirdly they self destruct as a result of family pressures. I believe that the reason for their life span makes perfect sense. One example of this is Lindsay Lohan. Although she is not dead, she is an example of a star where her fame has affected her health. She uses substance abuse as a way of coping with her inability to deal with fame. Young stars these days have so much pressure put on them that they are stressed and stress is a main cause of many different problems that can affect your health. It makes perfect sense to me that people with fame live shorter lives.
